Treatment After a Crash Under Enhanced Care

ICBC provides pre-approved treatment access for the early recovery period under Enhanced Care. Ongoing treatment and extensions depend on current benefit rules and the medical/recovery circumstances.

First 12 Weeks

ICBC currently describes the first 12 weeks after a crash as a period with pre-approved treatment coverage for specified services, subject to current limits and rules.

Start promptly

A claim number is needed to access the current pre-approved treatment process.

Keep records

Retain treatment recommendations, appointments and claim communications.

Review progress

If recovery is taking longer, discuss the next treatment steps and benefit-extension process with ICBC and providers.

If Treatment Is Denied or Ended

Ask what decision was made, why it was made and what information ICBC relied on. ICBC publishes a staged dispute process for injury and benefit decisions.
